At approximately 10:05, we made our way back to the MU, where we parted ways. There was a campus tour. We basically went all around. We saw the bookstore, one of the libraries, the rec center, walked across the Mississippi to East Bank, saw some more, and then went to lunch. I must say that the library we saw was exquisite. It was very ornamental, and the marble touches were really pretty. Lunch was in Dinkytown (they have the strangest names here; there's an area called Minnihaha..) in Cafe 421. I tried the portobello mushroom sandwich. It was pretty good.

Around 3:30, we left for Bryant Lake Bowl in Uptown. It was a bowling alley where we ordered a bunch of pizzas for dinner. It was interesting b/c it didn't have a computerized scoring system. It was paper and pencil like back in the day. I scored a 69 and 84. The weirdest thing happened when I was bowling. The pins would be all set up and ready, but after I released the ball, the little bar thing would come down. Subsequently, my ball would hit it, and the pins got all messed up. One of the workers had to go back and fix it.. TWICE!
Once I got back to the hotel, I gave Brj a call, he came over, and then we got the hotel shuttle to take us downtown to Block E Theater to catch a 9:00 showing of How to Train Your Dragon. Downtown looked kind of sketchy at night compared to Houston, although I've never really been in downtown Houston at night. The theater was in like a mini mall or something, because you go in and there are some food places: Cold Stone, burritos, etc. Then you go up two flights of escalators and the theaters right there. We were 50 minutes early for the movie, which by the way was just $7 (student price), so we got an ICEE. I was surprised that the theater was so empty for a Saturday night.
Back to the movie though.. IT WAS SO GOOD! I mean, I've wanted to see it ever since the first trailer came out. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I want a night fury! So cute.. like Stitch! The movie was done around 10:40 ish.
Since the hotel shuttle stopped running downtown at 10:30, we had to walk to the bus stop.. like 2 blocks.. and wait for bus number 16 at 11:05. SOMEone got off at their dorm, and told me to get off 2 stops later (which by the way was actually THREE STOPS later). I got back to the hotel safe and sound and decided to update my blog. End of story. End of day.
wow.. I'm so jealous you guys actually go out and do stuff like movies and bowling. I wish we did that!
